Growing up on Vashon within walking distance of the water, Connor quickly developed a love for paddling at an early age with business partner Riley and childhood friends, which carried into a professional kayak guiding career. Connor is a certified ACA/IWLS instructor and guide and Wilderness First Responder with Wilderness EMT experience. He has kayaked all around Washington, up the Inside Passage to Alaska, and in the everglades of Florida. Connor’s perfect day would be full of paddling followed by a game of cribbage and a hot campfire-cooked meal. He has also been known to kayak in a Hawaiian shirt for a tropical fling.
Shawn’s outdoor pursuits include kayaking, rafting, zipline, snowboarding, climbing, SCUBA diving, mountaineering and sailing to Hawaii, just to name a few. He is a certified wilderness first responder with EMT experience. Shawn enjoys any challenge and encourages everyone around him to be their best self. His signature phrase, ‘I’m bored’ means it’s time to go outside and do something extreme. Originally from Spokane, Shawn met Connor and Riley in his early 20’s and fell in love with Western WA’s plethora of outdoor activities. Shawn currently splits his seasonal time between guiding in the summer and building professional treehouses in the winter.

As a child on Vashon, Riley spent countless hours exploring the island on land & sea with Connor. He soon developed a love for ecological work, working for the local Land Trust and planting trees in his early teenage years which evolved into a career in restoration. Riley is an avid kayaker who has circumnavigated Vashon and the San Juan Islands several times with Connor and other like-minded paddlers. He is known as a bit of a performer, bursting into full-throated song unpredictably before long crosses. Riley and Connor met Shawn in their early-20’s and quickly bonded over their love of outdoor adventures. He loves to show visitors parts of Vashon that he and colleagues helped restore.
